Harmony of wild nature
and modern life
A garden in a forest area with a complex terrain
Description
This garden was born out of a love for the forest, its multilayered silence, and its unchanging power. The owners of the property wanted to create a modern garden without disrupting the wild and sometimes even gloomy forest. The natural terrain with its significant elevation differences added to the challenges. We carefully planned the garden using terracing and adhered to a simple and clear logic: the closer to the house, the more distinct the rhythm and vibrant the colors.
The front part of the house is characterized by its austere architecture. The straight staircases and lines of the retaining walls, as well as the geometric paving, contribute to a sense of elegance. The landscaping is vibrant and lush, with flower beds that sparkle like small fireworks. In the spring, apple trees bloom, adding a touch of color and visual interest. As you venture deeper into the forest, the rhythm begins to soften. The paths gently curve around the trees, avoiding disturbance to their root systems. The retaining walls take on a more fluid shape, blending seamlessly with the landscape.
There is a swimming pool with open water surrounded by pastel perennials and grasses. Nearby is a children's area nestled between pine trees and birches. The color scheme becomes watercolor-like. The gravel path crunches underfoot, the air smells of pine needles and warm leaves, and there are clusters of blueberries, strawberries, and black currants, with birdhouses scattered among them. The sauna and summer kitchen are the last man-made areas, and beyond them, the forest breathes freely.
The result of the work
A space where nature and aesthetics complement each other. A garden where you can enjoy the silence, collect forest gifts, and feel a sense of unity with the world around you.
