Description

We were lucky with this site, as was our client, as the backyard is dominated by a mixed forest with a rich undergrowth. Instead of radically transforming the vast area, we aimed to create a comfortable living space on the edge of the wilderness. Our goal was to seamlessly integrate functional areas into the existing landscape, preserving its atmosphere, and transform the forest from a backdrop into a full-fledged participant in the garden's life.

We have subordinated the area around the house to our own rules. There is even a garden with flower beds and raised beds that are easy for the client's elderly mother to tend to. We have made sure that each panoramic window offers a unique view: the garden allows you to appreciate nature in its natural beauty, while the forest beckons with its depth.

As a hedge, we used a free, "chaotic" planting of trees and ornamental shrubs. This is a delicate way to maintain privacy and hide from prying eyes without resorting to solid fences. The transition from the man-made landscape to the forest landscape begins with the terrace behind the house. We made it so soft and smooth that it seems completely natural. We added forest plants to the garden plants, such as ferns, sedges, geraniums, starflowers, and other flowers. We carefully considered the seasonal decorative elements when creating the picturesque compositions.

The result of the work

There are no contradictions in this garden: nature and architecture form a strong alliance here.

The project was highly appreciated by the professional community and received the Diamond Prize at the prestigious Future Art & Design Award (FADA) UK. A well-executed design with clear vision and artistic care — elegant, balanced, and thoughtfully detailed.
